Our New Home

This morning we cook the food we could afford on a makeshift oven. After losing our home in the bombings, life is hard. We try to be creative and make-do with what we have.
There are twelve of us living together and twelve of us to feed. We only get to eat one meal a day and we try to make the moment special. Despite our hunger and the loss of our dignity, we cling to hope. We have not given up.
I often think back on the home we used to have. I miss the beautiful city Gaza once was. It was full of life, color, and busy streets. It was loud with laughter and children's delightful shouts.

Now we are forced to build tents among the rubble. There's little color in our cities now. It's gray and brown. Laughter has been replaced with bombs. Children grow quiet. They wait, either for food or for the next evacuation.
My stomach is in pain but so is my heart. I mourn for their childhood and I mourn for their fading hope. I try to hold on which is I am reaching out to you for donations. I do not want to be forgotten. I do not want the world to abandon the children Gaza.
If you can donate, please follow the link below. If not, please share my story so that other people can find me and know that we are people. Please don't abandon us.
